Manav Suthar became the latest Indian to pick up a 10-wicket match haul during India’s 165-run win over Sri Lanka in the first Test in Galle on Wednesday.
The Rajasthan spinner finished with figures of 10-131 in 45.2 overs in the contest, including six wickets in the second innings, helping bowl Sri Lanka out for 206 in its chase of 373.
The left-armer has been a revelation since making his debut for India in the solitary Test against Afghanistan in early June.
Suthar finished with seven wickets in that game, including figures of 6/33 in the first innings.
In just his second Test, the youngster breached the 10-wicket mark, becoming the ninth Indian left-arm spinner to achieve the feat.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Anil Kumble hold the record for the most ten-wicket hauls for India (8), followed by Harbhajan Singh (5) and Ravindra Jadeja (3).
