“Following discussions between the BCCI Medical Team and the Team Management, Siraj has been advised a period of rest as part of his workload management programme. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure adequate recovery ahead of a long international season,” the BCCI said in a release on Tuesday.
Siraj was a late addition to the Indian squad in its last T20I assignment — the T20 World Cup — while he played in each of the 17 matches for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026, taking 19 wickets.
The right-arm pacer also featured in the one-off Test against Afghanistan, which ended inside three days on Monday.
Prasidh, who picked 16 wickets in 12 games for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026, last played a T20I in November 2023, against Australia.
India is scheduled to play two T20Is against Ireland on June 26 and 28 in Belfast, before taking on host England in five T20Is between July 1 and 11.
Updated squad for Ireland and England tours
