Mohammed Siraj was forced off the field with a side injury sustained while attempting a catch on the fourth day of India’s second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo.
Siraj suffered the injury while trying to take a catch of Pasindu Sooriyabandara, who had top-edged a delivery of Manav Suthar in the 11th over of Sri Lanka’s second innings.
Siraj, who was fielding at deep square-leg, charged in and threw himself into a full-stretch diving attempting the catch but landed heavily on his side.
He appeared in immediate pain on the floor, holding his side. He was immediately treated by medical staff, and walked off the field. He was later pictured receiving more treatment in the dugout.
India is currently seeking to secure a series win against Sri Lanka.
