Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will take the field one more time in the ongoing Duleep Trophy as East Zone beat Central Zone by four wickets on Tuesday to seal its place in the final.
Captain Ishan Kishan struck an unbeaten 39 in the final innings as East overhauled the target of 159 in less than two sessions on the third day.
Sooryavanshi also had a say in the chase, scoring 40 off 43 balls to get his team a solid platform at the top.
Harsh Dubey threatened to give a late twist to the contest, picking four wickets. But Central eventually paid the price for not having enough runs on the board.
Earlier in the day, Central resumed its second innings at 45 for three and could not get any meaningful partnership until Dubey and Aryan Pandey 45 runs for the ninth wicket.
Mohammed Shami ended with three wickets while Mukesh Kumar nabbed four in the second innings.
