Suryakumar Yadav became the fifth Indian captain to win a senior men\u2019s ICC title, after India beat New Zealand in T20 World Cup 2026 final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Men in Blue pipped the Kiwis by 96 runs on the back of a stunning first-innings batting performance, where the team put up 255 for five in 20 overs which proved too tall an ask for the Kiwis.<\/p>\n

Kapil Dev is the first Indian captain to triumph in an ICC event when he led India to the 1983 World Cup crown.<\/p>\n

MS Dhoni is the most successful Indian captain in ICC tournaments. Under his leadership, India won three titles \u2013 T20 World Cup 2007, ODI World Cup 2011 and Champions Trophy 2011.<\/p>\n

India added two championship wins under Rohit Sharma \u2013 T20 World Cup 2024 and Champions Trophy 2025.<\/p>\n
