{"id":139598,"date":"2026-03-10T07:27:04","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:57:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newslink360.space\/?p=139598"},"modified":"2026-03-10T07:27:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:57:04","slug":"arshdeep-singh-handed-one-demerit-point-for-throwing-ball-aggressively-at-daryl-mitchell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newslink360.space\/?p=139598","title":{"rendered":"Arshdeep Singh handed one demerit point for throwing ball \u2018aggressively\u2019 at Daryl Mitchell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"content-body-70726423\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">India fast bowler Arshdeep Singh was fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching ICC Code of Conduct during the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Arshdeep was found guilty of breaching level 1 of the ICC Code when he threw the ball at Daryl Mitchell\u2019s pads in the 11th over of the summit clash.<\/p>\n<p>The ICC deemed the throw \u201caggressive and inappropriate\u201d and handed over one demerit point, Arshdeep\u2019s first offence in a 24-month period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArshdeep was found to have breached Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to \u201cthrowing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment) at or near a player in an inappropriate and\/or dangerous manner during an International Match,\u201d ICC stated.<\/p>\n<p>He accepted the sanction proposed by Andy Pycroft of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, hence there was no need for a formal hearing.
