Under this, small children will be allowed to use this platform under strict supervision of parents. This step is considered to be an important change in the policy of WhatsApp, because till now the minimum age limit for using this platform was kept at 13 years (more than that in some areas).<\/p>\n<p>WhatsApp said in its blog that the new system of parent-controlled accounts is being introduced based on suggestions received from families and experts. Under this, parents or guardians will be able to create WhatsApp accounts for small children and limit their use to only sending messages or making calls. According to the company, parents will be able to control children&#8217;s contact lists, although the content of messages will be protected by &#8216;end to end encryption&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Control will be in the hands of parents<\/strong><br \/>The new control settings and other settings will be secured through a parental PIN and only parents will be able to view or change privacy settings. This means that even though the WhatsApp account is being opened in the name of the children, its complete control will be in the hands of the parents.
