An out-of-favour Jonny Bairstow has joined former teammate Liam Livingstone in criticising the level of care \u200bshown by the England hierarchy to some of the players \u200cand is looking forward to the English board rebuilding \u200bbridges with county cricket.<\/p>\n

All-rounder Livingstone recently said \u2060he was left out in the cold after being dropped by England last year, adding the current regime did not care about \u200cplayers outside the core group.<\/p>\n

Bairstow, who was part of England\u2019s early success under head coach Brendon \u200cMcCullum and Test captain Ben Stokes but has not \u200cplayed \u2060a Test since his 100th two years ago, \u2060echoed the same view.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need the care back in the game,\u201d Bairstow, 36, told the British media.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is OK saying people care about things – \u200bno, they don\u2019t. If you \u200care in the system, you are in the system. As soon as you are out of the system, you are out of the system.\u201d<\/p>\n

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) \u200cconducted a review of the team\u2019s 4-1 Ashes humbling \u200bearlier this year before deciding to stick with McCullum and Stokes, while Rob Key will also \u2060continue as managing director of England\u2019s men\u2019s cricket.<\/p>\n

England was criticised for persisting with out-of-form players such as Zak Crawley and \u200cOllie Pope in the Ashes series.<\/p>\n

Former England players, including Geoffrey Boycott and Michael Vaughan, have expressed surprise at what they called a lack of accountability in English cricket.<\/p>\n

Like them, Bairstow also felt certain players had grown complacent under the current set-up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you become comfortable you become complacent, \u200cand when someone questions you directly you are not used to it \u200bbecause you are in an environment that is potentially not questioning you in a different way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Key \u2060has announced the formation of a \u201ccounty insight group\u201d to establish a \u2060stronger link with domestic cricket.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe question you would ask is why have they disconnected in the first \u200cplace?\u201d Bairstow said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will see if the proof is in the pudding. I look forward to hearing a \u200bbit more about the review.\u201d<\/p>\n
