Not long after, he found no takers in the Indian Premier League auction after seven seasons with Delhi Capitals (DC). Shaw\u2019s desire for a reset saw him move to Maharashtra for the 2025-26 domestic season, and he had a promising start before runs tapered off.<\/p>\n
Despite all that has unfolded, Shaw has a fresh shot at redemption as part of DC\u2019s roster in IPL 2026. The stylish batter was acquired by the franchise at his base price of Rs. 75 lakh in the mini-auction in December.<\/p>\n
\u201cHumans make mistakes. I have also made mistakes. That\u2019s history. I like to be in the present. That\u2019s what I have learned,\u201d Shaw told the media on Wednesday. \u201cIf I don\u2019t think of a comeback (for India), it will be wrong. Because I am playing for that. And for that, I am working hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Shaw, now 26, the enforced break from last year\u2019s IPL helped enhance his mental toughness. \u201cI went to a couple of destinations to refresh my mind a little, and then I came back. I practised, worked hard, whether it was training or batting. Whatever I used to do, I started doing three times as much. I can\u2019t say I took a step back. It was just a needed break, so that I can strengthen myself mentally,\u201d he reflected.<\/p>\n
