Delhi Capitals batter Sameer Rizvi credited a clear role from the team management and a composed approach in the middle for his match-winning knock against Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2026 clash in Lucknow.<\/p>\n

Rizvi, who walked in at number four, said the coaches had already outlined his role, allowing him to play with freedom.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe coaches had already told me that I will bat at number four and play positively. My plan today when I went out to bat was also to stay positive,\u201d he said after the game.<\/p>\n

Chasing a modest target, DC was rocked early, but Rizvi stitched a crucial partnership with Tristan Stubbs to steady the innings. The youngster revealed that the duo focused on absorbing pressure before accelerating.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a chat with Stubbs that we will take our time as the score that we are chasing is not that big. We decided to take on the loose deliveries and that\u2019s what we did,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Rizvi\u2019s measured innings ensured there were no further hiccups as DC rebuilt after early losses and kept the required rate under control.<\/p>\n

He also pointed to the advantage of familiarity with conditions, which helped him pace the chase effectively. \u201cWhenever you play in your home conditions you have some idea about that, so it helped a lot,\u201d Rizvi said.<\/p>\n
