In the time since Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won its IPL opener in rousing fashion \u2013 by six wickets over Sunrisers Hyderabad a week ago \u2013 CSK has played twice and lost twice.<\/p>\n
Sunday\u2019s clash between the two teams at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium doesn\u2019t feel like a battle among equals.<\/p>\n
RCB is well rounded and appears primed for its title-defence. Virat Kohli made an unbeaten 38-ball 69 against SRH while Devdutt Padikkal smashed a 26-ball 61.<\/p>\n
The lone concern, about Josh Hazlewood\u2019s fitness, is also on the backburner after New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy\u2019s match-winning effort (3\/22) on the opening night.<\/p>\n
Hazlewood bowled in the nets on Friday, and was seen walking along the boundary ropes on match-eve. In Saturday\u2019s press conference, Jitesh Sharma was tight-lipped about the Aussie\u2019 availability, treating it like a State secret. It is not something RCB will sweat over, at least for this contest.<\/p>\n
For CSK, apart from the absence of its talismanic leader M.S. Dhoni and a lack of bite in its bowling, the non-availability of dashing batter Dewald Brevis has hamstrung the outfit. The South African practised ahead of the previous fixture against Punjab Kings, but it remains to be seen if he takes the field versus RCB.<\/p>\n
CSK needs a spark, and one wonders where it will come from. Will the small boundaries of Chinnaswamy unshackle its batters? Will the potential ignominy of losing a fourth straight time to RCB wake the team up?<\/p>\n
The Garden City, though, is in the midst of a Chennai-like sultry spell, with an outside chance of some rain. Will CSK feel at home?<\/p>\n
