What is TRAI’s new plan?<\/span><\/p>\n TRAI wants telecom companies to offer separate plans only for calling and SMS. There will be no internet (data) in these plans.<\/span><\/p>\n For how long will these plans be available?<\/span><\/p>\n These plans will come in different validity: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year.<\/span><\/p>\n What problems do people face right now?<\/span><\/p>\n Currently, most plans include data. People who do not use internet also have to do expensive recharge. Especially the elderly and village people are more troubled by this.<\/span><\/p>\n What will be the benefit of coming new plan?<\/span><\/p>\n Cheap recharge will be available only for calling, no need to pay for unwanted data, users will be able to choose the plan as per their need.<\/span><\/p>\n How cheap will these plans be?<\/span><\/p>\n According to TRAI, these voice-only plans will be much cheaper than data plans.<\/span><\/p>\n Who will benefit most?<\/span><\/p>\n This plan is especially beneficial for: Elderly people, feature phone users, people from villages and small towns who use mobile only for calls and SMS.<\/span><\/p>\n What has TRAI done now?<\/span><\/p>\n TRAI has sought suggestions from people and companies on this proposal. Suggestions can be given till 28 April.<\/span><\/p>\n When will this rule come into effect?<\/span><\/p>\n After receiving suggestions, TRAI will make final rules. After that the companies will have to launch these plans.<\/span><\/p>\n
