Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM)’s premium MPV Innova Hycross has crossed the milestone of sales of 2 lakh units in just three and a half years of its launch in India. Launched in November 2022, this hybrid MPV has recorded total sales of 2,00,000 units by April 2026. This achievement reflects the increasing popularity and changing trends of hybrid technology.<\/p>\n
The Innova Hycross is built on the TNGA-C platform, which makes it strong, comfortable and modern. It has a 5th generation self-charging strong hybrid system with a 2.0 liter petrol engine, which provides a total of 186 PS power and excellent mileage (up to 23 kmpl).<\/p>\n
Hybrid variants offer smooth performance with e-drive system. Customers can choose between 7-seater and 8-seater options. Talking about the features, it has large touchscreen infotainment, panoramic sunroof, ADAS safety suite, ventilated seats, automatic doors and premium cabin.<\/p>\n
Beats Innova Crysta<\/h2>\n
The Hycross gained market share faster than the diesel Crysta. In 2023, the HiCross sold 45,916 units, which was ahead of the Crysta. HiCross overtakes Crysta in FY2024 (52,997 vs 45,183). Hycross’s share to reach 58-59% in FY2025. HiCross’s share in total Innova sales in the first six months of 2025 was 63%, while Crysta’s was only 37%. Even in Q1 FY2026, HiCross sold 15,483 units, overtaking Crysta (9,900 units) by more than two-thirds of its sales. The hybrid variant now dominates the total Innova sales.<\/p>\n

The main reason for this success is the low running costs of the hybrid. Amid rising petrol-diesel prices and strict emission norms, customers are shifting towards hybrids. The Hycross proved to be quiet, powerful and fuel efficient in both urban and highway driving. Toyota’s reliability, low maintenance and resale value have also boosted sales.<\/p>\n

Senior officials of Toyota Kirloskar Motor expressed happiness over this achievement. He said that Hycross has redefined the premium MPV segment. The company is planning to bring more hybrid models in the future. Innova Hycross prices start at \u20b919.53 lakh (ex-showroom). It is perfect for family, corporate and tourist use. The diesel Crysta is still liked by some customers for its torque and long range capability, but the hybrid trend is clearly visible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
