After six consecutive losses at home, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) managed to break the streak with a 23-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC) last week.<\/p>\n

All-rounder Jamie Overton\u2019s four-wicket haul was instrumental in restricting DC to 189 in a 213-run chase.<\/p>\n

Talking to the media ahead of the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Overton was all praise for the Chennai crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cChennai is a fabulous place to come and play. The support we get is phenomenal, and it was nice to finally get a win this season. Hopefully we go on a run from here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Overton found success bowling hard lengths. All four of his wickets came from bowling length or back-of-length deliveries. The key to his success comes down to adaptability, he says.<\/p>\n

\u201cHitting the hard lengths is sort of my natural stuff to do. Last game that\u2019s what worked, but sometimes we\u2019ve got to adapt to the wickets and analyse what suits a certain wicket,\u201d the 32-year-old said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the past I\u2019ve bowled a bit short, but I\u2019ve just realised what works and what doesn\u2019t. I\u2019m also trying to bowl a bit fuller to bring the batsman forward, as the wickets are so good nowadays. So, I\u2019m trying to stick with that process,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Like CSK, KKR has also had an underwhelming start to the season, sitting 10th on the points table. One contributing factor is the big names not delivering with the bat.<\/p>\n

With 298 runs in eight innings, at an average and strike rate of 49.67 and 200, respectively, Finn Allen had a stupendous outing in the T20 World Cup earlier this year.<\/p>\n

However, the opening batter has been unable to carry on the momentum into this IPL season for KKR, managing just 80 runs in four innings.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been only a couple of games into the tournament, and I don\u2019t think you can judge too much of it. I had good starts in the first two games. Obviously, I would\u2019ve liked to kick on more, but hopefully it\u2019s just around the corner,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On the flip side, CSK opener Sanju Samson is coming into the fixture in red-hot form on the back of a game-defining century against DC. Asked about the plans against him, Allen, with a smile, said, \u201cThankfully, I don\u2019t have to bowl to him. So, it\u2019s not too much of my concern.\u201d<\/p>\n
