Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka, who withdrew from \u200bthis year\u2019s Pakistan Super League and \u200clater joined Rajasthan Royals in \u200bthe Indian Premier League, \u2060has been banned from the next edition of the PSL, the Pakistan \u200cCricket Board said on Monday.<\/p>\n

Shanaka is the latest international \u200cplayer to be suspended \u200cafter \u2060leaving the PSL and joining \u2060the Indian league, which runs almost simultaneously, after Zimbabwe\u2019s Blessing Muzarabani got a \u200btwo-year ban \u200cearlier this month.<\/p>\n

The Pakistani board said in a statement that 34-year-old Shanaka, who captained Sri Lanka \u200cin this year\u2019s T20 World \u200bCup, had unilaterally withdrawn from the PSL last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2060findings indicated that the withdrawal was made on grounds not \u200crecognised within the existing contractual framework,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

Shanaka, who is yet to appear for Rajasthan this season, said in a statement that he deeply regretted \u200cthe decision to withdraw, and had no \u200bintention of joining any other tournament when he pulled \u2060out of the PSL.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope to \u2060return to the PSL in the future with renewed \u200cdedication and the trust of the fans,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
