Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) unveiled a star-studded list of player retentions featuring India captain Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube on Saturday, ahead of the T20 Mumbai League 2026.<\/p>\n

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tushar Deshpande, Ajinkya Rahane, Sarfaraz Khan, Shardul Thakur joined T20 World Cup-winning captain Suryakumar, Iyer and Dube as the Icon Players.<\/p>\n

U-19 World Cup-winning skipper Ayush Mhatre has also been retained. Overall, all eight teams have retained three players each for the fourth season of the tournament.<\/p>\n

MCA President Ajinkya Naik said: \u201cThis is a strong statement of intent from all franchises. The retention of some of the biggest names in Indian cricket reflects the strength and credibility the T20 Mumbai League has built over the years. At the same time, the opportunity for young and emerging players to share the dressing room with such established stars is invaluable for their growth and development. With such a high-quality core in place, we are set for a season that will raise the bar in terms of competitiveness and overall standard of cricket.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the retention phase complete, focus now shifts to the upcoming player auction as franchises look to build on their strong core and assemble squads capable of competing for the title.<\/p>\n

Last year, Siddhesh Lad\u2019s MSC Maratha Royals became champion after beating Iyer\u2019s SoBo Mumbai Falcons by five wickets in the final.<\/p>\n
