England has underachieved since winning the 2017 Women\u2019s World Cup, and \u200bit is determined to put that right \u200cwhen it hosts the Twenty20 edition \u200bon home soil in June, \u2060captain Nat Sciver-Brunt said.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old replaced Heather Knight as all-format captain in April last year, and the T20 World Cup will be her second major International \u200cCricket Council (ICC) event as captain and \u200cher \u2060first at home.<\/p>\n

Sciver-Brunt led the team \u2060at the 50-over World Cup last year in India and Sri Lanka, where it was knocked \u200bout in the \u200csemifinals by South Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would have liked to have won a lot more than we have done and we\u2019d \u200cobviously like that to change this \u200bsummer,\u201d she told BBC Sport<\/i> on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cA win could change what \u2060women\u2019s cricket looks like in this country. Just the carrot of that is enough \u200cto motivate anyone, really. It certainly could change what this team is about. We didn\u2019t really do it after 2017, but being a consistently good team is something that everyone tries to do. \u200cI\u2019m hoping we can be a consistently good \u200bteam and we\u2019d love to start off with a T20 World \u2060Cup win.\u201d<\/p>\n

England is drawn in Group B alongside \u2060defending champion New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Scotland. \u200cIt opens its campaign in the 12-team tournament against Sri Lanka on June \u200b12.\u00a0<\/p>\n
