{"id":160781,"date":"2026-04-28T23:10:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T04:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newslink360.space\/?p=160781"},"modified":"2026-04-28T23:10:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T04:40:18","slug":"new-zealand-squad-for-womens-t20-world-cup-2026-full-list-of-players-amelia-kerr-named-captain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newslink360.space\/?p=160781","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand squad for Women\u2019s T20 World Cup 2026: Full list of players; Amelia Kerr named captain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"content-body-70919079\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">Off-spinning all-rounder Nensi Patel and batter Izzy Sharp are set to make \u200btheir Women\u2019s T20 World Cup debuts after being \u200cnamed in the New Zealand squad \u200bfor the tournament in England in \u2060June, the country\u2019s cricket board announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Sophie Devine, Lea Tahuhu and Suzie Bates were also \u200cnamed in the defending champion\u2019s squad, with the trio set to call \u200ctime on their international careers after \u200cthe \u2060tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The 15-woman squad, led by Amelia \u2060Kerr, will defend the title they won in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Before the tournament begins in England in June, the team \u200bwill play a \u200cthree-match T20I series against the host in late May as part of its World Cup build-up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be an extra \u200cspecial time for Izzy and Nensi with \u200bit being their first World Cup,\u201d head coach Ben Sawyer said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo have \u2060our three most senior players all finishing their careers at the same tournament is \u200ca rare and special occasion.
