On a day when the sound of the whistle reverberated across the city and beyond, striking an unmistakable chord with the masses, hope and belief found renewed expression at the\u00a0M.A.\u00a0Chidambaram\u00a0Stadium.<\/p>\n

At the heart of it stood\u00a0Urvil\u00a0Patel, whose breathtaking assault lit up the arena as Chennai Super Kings got past Lucknow Super Giants in a crucial\u00a0IPL\u00a02026 clash on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Urvil\u2019s\u00a0stupendous knock (65, 23b, 2×4, 8×6) powered\u00a0CSK\u00a0to a five-wicket victory as the host chased down a formidable target of 204 despite a late scare.<\/p>\n

The foundation was laid by openers\u00a0Sanju\u00a0Samson (28, 14b, 3×4, 2×6) and skipper\u00a0Ruturaj\u00a0Gaikwad\u00a0(42, 28b, 3×4, 2×6), who came out with intent and raced to 35 without loss in the first three overs. Boundaries flowed freely before spinner\u00a0Digvesh\u00a0Rathi\u00a0struck by castling Samson, though not before the batter had smashed him for a boundary and a towering six.<\/p>\n

What followed, however, was sheer carnage.<\/p>\n

The turning point arrived in the fifth over, bowled by\u00a0Avesh\u00a0Khan.\u00a0Ruturaj\u00a0set the tone with a massive hit over long-on before\u00a0Urvil\u00a0completely seized control, dismantling the attack with three monstrous sixes as 25 runs came off the over.<\/p>\n

Digvesh\u00a0was not spared in the next either.\u00a0Urvil\u00a0tore into the\u00a0leggie, launching three more deliveries into the stands and drilling another through extra cover for four as\u00a0CSK\u00a0plundered another 25-run over to storm to 97 for one at the end of the\u00a0PowerPlay.<\/p>\n

Mohammed\u00a0Shami\u00a0was the next to bear the brunt of\u00a0Urvil\u2019s\u00a0fearless\u00a0strokeplay\u00a0as the batter raced to a stunning half-century \u2014 the joint-fastest in\u00a0IPL\u00a0history \u2014 while the host surged past the 100-run mark in just the seventh over.<\/p>\n

Against the run of play, left-arm spinner\u00a0Shahbaz\u00a0Ahmed provided brief respite in the 10th\u00a0over, dismissing\u00a0Urvil\u00a0to a thunderous ovation from a packed\u00a0Chepauk\u00a0crowd. He then accounted for the well-set\u00a0Ruturaj, but the damage had already been done.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Josh Inglis produced a sensational blitz (85, 33b, 10×4, 6×6) to lay a strong platform. However, Jamie Overton pulled things back with figures of three for 36. Late contributions from\u00a0Shahbaz\u00a0(43\u00a0n.o., 25b, 3×4, 3×6) and\u00a0Himmat\u00a0Singh (17, 12b, 1×4, 1×6) lifted\u00a0LSG\u00a0to 203 for eight.<\/p>\n

But on a memorable night at\u00a0Chepauk, it was\u00a0Urvil\u2019s\u00a0bat that whistled the loudest.<\/p>\n
