Honda Cars India is preparing to launch the facelift model of its popular sedan City this month. Recently an undisguised unit has been spotted in India, which clearly gives a glimpse of the upcoming updates. Unlike the earlier camouflaged test mules, this open shot completely exposes the front design.<\/p>\n
The 2026 Honda City Facelift seems inspired by the company’s new global design language. Compared to the current City, it looks a little sharper, cleaner and premium. Overall the silhouette has remained the same, but the updates will make it more competitive in the segment. Its launch is expected to happen around May 22. Design and interior<\/h3>\n
The biggest changes are visible in the front. There are new LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, a new H logo on the bonnet and a revised grille with a layered horizontal mesh pattern. The grille extends more cleanly between the headlamps, making the car look wider. The lower bumper has angular inserts and clean air intakes. The side profile remains almost the same, but new alloy wheel designs can be found in the top variants. Updated tail lamps and refreshed bumper are also expected at the rear.<\/p>\n
Major changes are not expected in the cabin, as the next generation will arrive around 2028. Still, some updates like new seat upholstery, better materials and trims can be found. The dashboard layout will mostly remain the same, but soft-touch plastics and metallic accents may be added to enhance the premium feel. Ventilated front seats and powered driver seat are also discussed in some reports.<\/p>\n
Features and safety<\/h3>\n
To remain competitive, the company can add 360-degree camera, updates to the infotainment system and connected car technology. Bigger touchscreen and other comfort features are likely to be available in the top variants. Safety is already strong. 6 airbags, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, TPMS and Honda SENSING ADAS suite are available.<\/p>\n
Engine and Mileage<\/h3>\n
There is no major change mechanically. Its 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine gives 121 PS power and 145 Nm torque. There will be 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. The mileage in CVT is expected to be around 18.4 kmpl. Hybrid variant may also be available.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
