While the whole world is currently busy expanding 5G networks, Japanese scientists have gone a long way in preparing for 6G. In this direction, Tokoshima University has achieved such an achievement which has attracted the attention of the tech world.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Takeshi Yasui&#8217;s team has claimed to have achieved wireless speed of 112 Gbps. This speed is so fast that about 14 GB data can be transferred in just 1 second. This means that a big HD movie can be downloaded in a few seconds. The biggest thing is that this test was done on Terahertz frequency band, which is considered to be the real foundation of the future 6G network.<\/p>\n<h2>The entire movie will be downloaded in three-four seconds<\/h2>\n<p>If we understand the meaning of speed of 112 Gbps in common people&#8217;s language, it is about 20 times faster than the existing 5G network. While today it takes several seconds or minutes to download a large file, with 6G technology this work can be done almost instantly. According to scientists, at this speed about 5 GB HD movie can be downloaded in just 3 to 4 seconds.<\/p>\n<h2>Big success achieved on 560 GHz frequency<\/h2>\n<p>This achievement is not being considered special just because of speed. The real reason is the frequency at which this test was conducted. The Japanese team used the 560 GHz frequency, which is part of the terahertz band. Signals at such high frequencies weaken very quickly, so it is considered extremely difficult to achieve stable and fast data transfer there. This is why tech experts are calling this achievement a big step towards 6G. This shows that practical wireless communication may also be possible on the terahertz band in the future.<\/p>\n<h2>Did Japan set the world&#8217;s first 6G record?<\/h2>\n<p>Even before this, many big tests on 6G speed have been conducted in the world. University College London had achieved wireless speeds of up to 938 Gbps. China&#8217;s Purple Mountain Labs has also tested 206 Gbps speed. But Japan&#8217;s achievement is being considered different because it conducted this test at a very high frequency. The UK record was around 300 GHz, while Japan achieved success at 560 GHz.
