Now in this debate, the greatest religious leader of Christianity, Pope Leo XIV, has also openly warned. In his new manifesto &#8216;Magnifica Humanitas&#8217; issued from Vatican City, the Pope has clearly said that if AI technology is used only for power, control and profit instead of human values, then it can push the world towards new conflicts and destruction.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically referring to modern AI models like OpenAI&#8217;s ChatGPT, Anthropic&#8217;s Cloud and Google&#8217;s Gemini, Pope said that technology in itself is not bad, but the thinking of those who use it decides how its impact will be on humanity. He believes that today the world is standing at a turning point where AI can make human life easier and if it goes out of control, it can also prove to be very dangerous.<\/p>\n<h2>Danger of losing humanity in the race for profit<\/h2>\n<p>Pope warned that the world&#8217;s big tech companies are using AI only as a tool to increase business and power. He called it &#8216;Babel Syndrome&#8217;, where humans are slowly turning into just data and economic figures. He says that if human dignity and morality are left behind, then inequality and exploitation will increase rapidly in the society.<\/p>\n<h2>Serious concern over the use of AI in war<\/h2>\n<p>The Pope&#8217;s biggest concern is about the increasing use of AI in the military and war. He clearly said that decisions like life and death can never be handed over to machines. No algorithm can decide whose life will be lost and whose life will be saved. He believes that AI based weapons can eliminate human sensitivity and make war more dangerous than before.<\/p>\n<h2>Machines cannot understand human pain<\/h2>\n<p>Pope said that when remote systems and AI-based drones carry out attacks from a distance, there is no one to feel the pain and devastation of ordinary citizens. Due to this, the moral responsibility of a person begins to end. He appealed to governments to make strict global rules on such weapons and automated warfare systems.<\/p>\n<h2>AI is never completely fair<\/h2>\n<p>The manifesto also said that it is wrong to consider AI as completely neutral. AI reflects the thinking and priorities that the companies and developers who create it put into it. If there is bias in data or algorithms, discrimination in jobs, education, bank loans and government services may also increase.tech<\/p>\n<h2>Questions on increasing control of tech companies<\/h2>\n<p>Pope expressed concern that huge control of AI and data has reached into the hands of a few selected tech companies of the world. Due to this, the impact of these companies on society, politics and economy may increase further in future. He appealed to governments to implement strong monitoring and transparent rules on the AI \u200b\u200bsector so that technology does not become a weapon against humanity.<\/p>\n<h2>There is no opposition to technology, responsible use is necessary<\/h2>\n<p>Pope Leo also made it clear that he is not against technology or AI. He says that AI has amazing possibilities for education, health, research and betterment of society. But this is possible only when humans control technology, rather than technology controlling humans. For this reason, he has appealed to governments and society around the world to make strict rules for the safe and responsible use of AI.<\/p>\n<h2>new kind of slavery<\/h2>\n<p>Pope said that behind the shiny world of AI, there is a bitter truth hidden which cannot be ignored. According to him, millions of workers who run AI systems and make devices related to them are today facing a \u201cnew kind of slavery\u201d. He said that the poor and weak people of the world are paying the price of continuously running computers, smartphones and data centers with their bodies and lives. The Pope expressed particular concern over the condition of children and adolescents who are forced to work in extremely dangerous conditions in many parts of the world.
