Rajasthan Royals batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed a whirlwind 97 in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the PCA New Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Sooryavanshi fell just short of Chris Gayle\u2019s record of the fastest hundred in the IPL, when he was dismissed for 97 off 29 balls.<\/p>\n

His knock was studded with five fours and 12 sixes, setting the Royals up for a dominant score after being put in to bat.<\/p>\n

During the course of the innings, Sooryavanshi equalled Suresh Raina\u2019s record for the fastest fifty in IPL Playoffs — both batters reached the half century mark in just 16 balls.<\/p>\n
