These figures clearly show which brand the customers trust the most in the Indian automobile market. This month too, Maruti Suzuki&#8217;s dominance continued, while there was a close race between Tata Motors and Mahindra for the second position.<\/p>\n<p>Tata has secured its second position with a slight lead. If you are also thinking of buying a new car, then this report will help you understand which company&#8217;s vehicles are being liked the most by other buyers in the country. Let&#8217;s take a look at the sales reports from Maruti Suzuki to Tata Motors and Mahindra.<\/p>\n<h2>1. Maruti Suzuki<\/h2>\n<p>Maruti Suzuki, the first choice of Indian customers, has strongly retained its first position by selling 1,90,337 vehicles in May 2026. The company has registered a monthly growth of 1.4% compared to the month of April (1,87,704 units). Along with this, Maruti has achieved an impressive growth of 40% on an annual basis compared to May 2025, which shows its continuously increasing demand.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Tata Motors<\/h3>\n<p>Tata Motors maintained its strong hold in the market this month also. Despite the tough challenge from Mahindra, Tata took the second position by selling 59,090 vehicles in May 2026. Although, its monthly growth was only 0.2% compared to April (59,000 units), but compared to May 2025 last year, the company has registered an excellent annual growth of 42.2%.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Mahindra<\/h3>\n<p>SUV King Mahindra has come very close to second place this time. The company has sold 58,021 vehicles in May 2026, which is only a few hundred units less than Tata Motors. Mahindra has achieved a strong monthly growth (MoM) of 3% and its sales have increased by 10.7% compared to last year, which reflects the strong demand for its new models.<\/p>\n<h3>4. Hyundai<\/h3>\n<p>The month of May 2026 was a bit slow for Hyundai. The company has sold 47,837 vehicles this month, which is in fourth place. Its monthly sales have seen a decline of 7.8% as compared to 51,902 vehicles sold in April 2026. However, compared to last year, Hyundai has managed to register a positive annual growth of 9.1% till May 2025.<\/p>\n<h3>5. Toyota<\/h3>\n<p>Toyota, famous for its reliable and premium vehicles, remains at fifth position in the list. The company has sold 30,574 vehicles in May 2026, whereas in April this figure was 30,159 units.
