England announced its 12-player squad for the \u200bfirst Test against New Zealand, which \u200cbegins at Lord\u2019s on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Shoaib Bashir has been \u200cpicked \u2060as first-choice spinner despite \u2060not featuring in the entire Ashes series.<\/p>\n

Ollie Robinson makes his return \u200bto the \u200cTest squad for the first time since February 2024 while spinner Rehan Ahmed has \u200cbeen dropped.<\/p>\n

Two uncapped players, \u200btop-order batter Emilio Gay and fast bowler Sonny \u2060Baker, were included.<\/p>\n

Zak Crawley has been dropped following his \u200cpoor performance during the Ashes while fast bowler Jofra Archer has been left out after featuring in the recent Indian Premier League.<\/p>\n

England \u200cis playing its first Test series \u200bsince losing the Ashes 4-1 to Australia.<\/p>\n

England \u2060is playing a three-Test series against \u2060New Zealand with matches at The Oval and \u200cTrent Bridge to follow later this month.<\/p>\n
