India\u2019s finisher on Tuesday said playing alongside the likes of Elyse Perry and Sophie Devine at the WPL helped her develop as one of the most explosive batters in women\u2019s cricket.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe WPL has helped me a lot because I have played along with domestic and international players,\u201d said Richa on the eve of India\u2019s match against the Netherlands at the Women\u2019s T20 World Cup here. \u201cIn my team (Royal Challengers Bengaluru), Ellyse Perry was there; Sophie Devine was there; and Smriti Mandhana has been the captain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richa, whose stunning onslaught at the death took India to a match-winning total against Pakistan in Birmingham in her side\u2019s opening fixture, said she watched how the big stars in her team batted at the WPL.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat helped me to find out what I could do for my team,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPerry is a good middle-order batter and I learned from her how to finish it off. And Devine showed to bat in the Powerplay.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said her innings in the warm-up match against and then the Pakistan game gave her confidence going into the rest of the tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the practice match, I had so many overs to play, and that innings made me confident,\u201d she said. \u201cBefore that, when I was not scoring runs, I focussed on practice. Speaking to seniors like Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti also helped. They asked me not to worry and just to focus. And that helped.\u201d<\/p>\n
