According to one of the most prolific and well-known tipsters on Weibo, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro<\/a> will get the much-rumored main camera upgrade. Actually, he says it’s “confirmed”.<\/p>\n

This upgrade basically means the main camera module will be physically larger on the iPhone 18 Pro than it was on its predecessor. This will result in the camera bump’s thickness being increased by approximately 2mm.<\/p>\n

The iPhone 18 Pro (and the iPhone 18 Pro Max<\/a>) have long been rumored to get a main camera with a variable aperture, and that alone could explain this size increase. There’s also a chance that the sensor itself will be larger, and that would definitely contribute to the added girth.<\/p>\n

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to launch in September alongside the iPhone Ultra<\/a>, while the iPhone 18<\/a> and iPhone 18e, possibly along with the iPhone Air 2<\/a>, are, according to multiple rumors, only going to arrive next spring.<\/p>\n
