Hero MotoCorp recently launched India’s first flex fuel motorcycles, which include the Splendor Plus Flex Fuel and the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel. This launch is a big step towards eco-friendly mobility, especially when the government is promoting ethanol blended fuel from E20 to E85. The ex-showroom Delhi price of Splendor Plus Flex Fuel is \u20b9 82,810, which is about \u20b9 5,000 more than the standard model. However, currently the company is selling it with a special price for only \u20b9 78,710. This bike can run on any ethanol blend from E20 to E85, which will reduce fuel consumption and also reduce pollution.<\/p>\n
Hero has made 36 changes to the engine and fuel system, which include a new fuel pump, secondary air filter and recalibrated ECU. This model will be available in Delhi-NCR and Maharashtra from July 2026, later it can be purchased across the country. Splendor Plus Flex Fuel will continue to be the choice of the common man with its reliability, low maintenance and now better eco-friendly technology. Design and features<\/h2>\n
The design of Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel is similar to the standard Splendor Plus, which is classic and practical. It comes with 2000 mm length, 720 mm width and 1052 mm height. The wheelbase is 1236mm and ground clearance is 165mm, which performs well on bad roads. It gets alloy wheels, tubeless tires (80\/100-18) and a new semi-digital instrument cluster. Color options are limited, but the traditional splendor look remains intact. Saddle height is 785 mm, which is comfortable for most riders. Overall, it has a simple but strong design.<\/p>\n
The bike has i3S (Idle Stop-Start) technology, which saves fuel. Features like side stand engine cut-off, front-rear drum brakes with Combined Braking System (CBS) and LED position lamp have been provided. The flex fuel version has an updated instrument cluster. The fuel tank is of 9.8 litres. It is basic but reliable in terms of safety and features. There is no advanced connectivity, which is common in this segment.<\/p>\n
Engine and Performance<\/h3>\n
It is equipped with a 97.2 cc air-cooled, 4-stroke single-cylinder OHC engine. On E85 fuel, it produces 8.5 PS (approx. 8.44 bhp) power @ 8000 rpm and 8.3 Nm torque @ 6000 rpm, which is slightly better than the standard version. Chain drive with 4-speed gearbox. Top speed is said to be around 87 kmph. Mileage can be around 70 kmpl on E20 and up to 62 kmpl in real-world. Performance is better on E85 due to flex fuel technology. The weight is 113 kg, which makes handling easy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
