The Punch is positioned as a rugged mini SUV, while the Fronx is a stylish crossover, which attracts young buyers. The starting price of Punch starts at around \u20b9 5.65 lakh, while the Fronx can be bought for \u20b9 6.85 lakh. Tata Punch is known for its 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating and strong build quality.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas Fronx brings the reliability of Maruti with better mileage, refined engine and features. Both the vehicles are suitable for city driving and highway driving, but their strengths are different. According to the needs of the buyers, Punch can prove to be a better option for safety and ruggedness, while Fronx can prove to be a better option for performance, efficiency and comfort. This comparison will help you make the right choice between the two. Let us take a look at the details from their design to engine-mileage.<\/p>\n<h2>Design and interior<\/h2>\n<p>The Tata Punch has a boxy and muscular design, inspired by Tata&#8217;s larger SUVs. It feels reliable on rough roads with high ground clearance (about 187-193 mm). The Maruti Fronx has a sportier and sleeker look, with a sloping roofline and attractive LED lights, giving it a premium crossover feel. Front length is 3995 mm, which is slightly more than Punch.<\/p>\n<p>The cabin of the Punch is functional, but the plastic quality is average. Space is good and boot space is huge (366 litres). The interior of the Fronx looks more premium. It has better materials and a spacious cabin, which can comfortably seat 5 adults and has a modern layout. The Fronx features a 9-inch touchscreen, head-up display and better fit-finish.<\/p>\n<h3>Features and safety<\/h3>\n<p>Both have features like touchscreen infotainment, wireless charging and rear camera. In some cases Fronx is ahead. It gets a 360\u00b0 camera, cruise control, Arkamys sound system, Android Auto\/Apple CarPlay and rare AC vents. The Punch also has a digital cluster and connected car tech, but lacks some premium features like ventilated seats.<\/p>\n<p>Tata Punch is a clear winner in safety. It has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, 6 airbags (standard), ESP, TPMS, and strong structure. The Fronx also has 6 airbags, ESP, hill hold and ABS, but the crash test rating is not as impressive as the Punch. Punch is a safe option especially for families.<\/p>\n<h3>Engine and Mileage<\/h3>\n<p>Tata Punch is available in 1.2 liter Revotron (86-88 bhp) and turbo option (up to 120 PS). Mileage as per ARAI is 18.8-20 kmpl. Maruti Front has 1.2 liter DualJet (89 bhp) and 1.0 liter Turbo engines (99 bhp), which feel more refined and powerful. Mileage is better at 21.5-22.89 kmpl (petrol) and 28+ km\/kg in CNG.
