He needed 72 innings to reach this tally, thus making him the joint second-quickest for India after Shubman Gill.

Quickest to reach 3000 ODI career runs (in fewest number of innings)

Inns

M

Batter (For)

Achieved on

Opp

Venue

Runs

Avg.

HS

100/50

57

59

Hashim Amla (SA)

28 Aug 2012

Eng

Southampton

3031

58.29

150

10/18

62

62

Shubman Gill (Ind)

13 Jun 2026

Afg

Dharamsala

3037

57.30

208

8/18

67

72

Shai Hope (WI)

22 Dec 2019

Ind

Cuttack

3007

52.75

170

8/15

67

67

Fakhar Zaman (Pak)

29 Apr 2023

NZ

Rawalpindi

3082

49.61

210*

10/15

67

68

Iman-ul-Haq (Pak)

10 Oct 2023

SL

Hyderabad RGS

3003

49.23

151

9/19

Quickest to reach 3000 ODI career runs for India (in fewest number of innings)

Inns

M

Batter

Achieved on

Opp

Venue

Runs

Avg.

HS

100/50

62

62

Shubman Gill

13 Jun 2026

Afg

Dharamsala

3037

57.30

208

8/18

72

73

Shikhar Dhawan

20 Jan 2016

Aus

Canberra

3000

43.48

137

9/16

72

78

Shreyas Iyer

17 Jun 2026

Afg

Lucknow

3015

45.68

128*

5/23

75

78

Virat Kohli

14 Feb 2012

SL

Adelaide

3001

46.17

118

8/19

78

84

K.
