Sophie Molineux grew up watching cricket with her father. Some 15 years ago, she said she would one day like to watch a Test at Lord\u2019s.<\/p>\n

She is going to do better than that. She will on Sunday lead Australia in the final of the Women\u2019s T20 World Cup at the home of cricket.<\/p>\n

The Australian captain expects a tough challenge. \u201cIt is going to be a huge challenge,\u201d she said. \u201cThey have played some really brilliant cricket over the last few weeks. Lottie (coach Charlotte Edwards) has got the team in a really good place, and they seem to be full of confidence. And you add on to that, 30,000 English fans here at Lord\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

She, however, pointed out that her team matched up well against England. \u201cWe don\u2019t look too far into the past, but we should be very confident heading into this,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd if we just look at how we want to play and what we can do.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said it had been a real joy captaining the Australian team. \u201cLook, they are teammates, but they are also best mates,\u201d Molineux said. \u201cTo be able to go across the other side of the world and to be able to play in a T20 World Cup with a group of people that, like, they are the best. We have had such a good time over here, and we have played some really good cricket. I think that reflects the space that we are in as a group.\u201d<\/p>\n

She revealed Ellyse Perry looked fine. \u201cShe trained really well today,\u201d she said. \u201cShe had a good bat and a good bowl. And yeah, I think she is about to go over the field now. So she trained well today and we will assess tomorrow and see how she pulls up before we make any decisions (for the final).\u201d<\/p>\n

Among those watching the final at Lord\u2019s will be Mark Molinuex, Sophie\u2019s father.<\/p>\n
