Major League Baseball said on Wednesday it has joined forces with \u200bSuryakumar Yadav as part of an effort to \u200cbring America\u2019s favourite pastime closer to \u200bIndian sports fans.<\/p>\n

In his role as \u2060an MLB Ambassador, the captain of the 2026 T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team will participate \u200cin a series of events and initiatives in both India and the \u200cU.S. highlighting the similarities between baseball \u200cand \u2060cricket beyond the bat and ball.<\/p>\n

Suryakumar \u2060will be on hand during MLB All-Star week in Philadelphia from July 10-14.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to partner with Major \u200bLeague Baseball and \u200cbe part of its journey in India,\u201d Suryakumar said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to learning more about the game myself and helping more \u200cfans discover the energy, excitement and culture \u200bthat make baseball something else.\u201d<\/p>\n

MLB also said Suryakumar would curate a wide \u2060range of content designed to connect with sports fans in India.<\/p>\n

The India team led \u200cby Suryakumar etched their name deeper into cricketing history in March when they became the first side to lift the men\u2019s T20 World Cup for a third time with a ruthless demolition of New Zealand.<\/p>\n

MLB \u200calso announced a renewal of its broadcast agreement with \u200b JioHotstar<\/i> to bring live games and content to fans across the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndia \u2060is home to one of the most vibrant \u2060sports cultures in the world, and these partnerships allow us to connect \u200cwith fans in a meaningful way,\u201d said Jeremiah Yolkut, MLB\u2019s senior vice president of \u200bglobal operations.<\/p>\n
