Pakistan PM holds talks with Iran, Qatar leaders to revive stalled U.S.-Iran negotiations<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held separate talks with the leaders of Iran and Qatar in an effort to revive the stalled U.S.-Iran negotiations.<\/p>\n

The talks were held on Friday night (July 10, 2026). In his conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Mr. Sharif expressed \u201cdeep concern over the recent escalation in tensions in the region\u201d and underscored the urgent need to \u201crestore regional peace and stability,\u201d according to a statement by the PM Office.<\/p>\n

He urged parties to \u201cexercise restraint and refrain from any action that could jeopardise the hard-earned peace gains achieved over the past few months\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sharif stressed the importance of upholding the commitments undertaken under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), describing it as an enduring framework for promoting mutual understanding, respect and shared prosperity in the region and beyond.<\/p>\n

Reaffirming Pakistan\u2019s steadfast commitment to regional peace, Mr. Sharif assured Mr. Pezeshkian of Islamabad\u2019s readiness to continue playing an \u201chonest and sincere role\u201d in facilitating dialogue and supporting all efforts aimed at preserving peace and stability.<\/p>\n
