Nolan\u2019s latest is being treated as a cinematic event, and for good reason. The film was shot entirely with IMAX cameras, a format designed for the kind of enormous screen that makes you feel less like you are watching a film and more like you have been dropped into its world. For fans who have spent thousands of rupees on the best seats they could find, this is probably not the screening to treat casually.<\/p>\n
Arrive early. Preferably 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Leave time for traffic, queues and the inevitable hunt for popcorn. More importantly, be in your seat before the lights go down.<\/p>\n
There have been reports that select IMAX 70mm screenings<\/a> could include additional footage, including a reported four-minute prologue from Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three<\/em>. The footage is yet to be officially confirmed in every market, but speculation around such an attachment has already added another layer of anticipation to an already much-awaited release.<\/p>\n This would not be entirely unprecedented for a Nolan release. In 2007, the opening sequence of The Dark Knight<\/em> was screened ahead of select IMAX showings of I Am Legend<\/em>, giving audiences an early look at the Batman <\/em>sequel. Four years later, a six-minute prologue from The Dark Knight Rises<\/em> was attached to select IMAX screenings of Mission: Impossible \u2013 Ghost Protocol<\/em>. The footage introduced Tom Hardy’s Bane months before the film’s release.<\/p>\n Nolan, then, has a history of making the IMAX experience feel like an event before the main feature even begins. If the reported Dune: Part Three<\/em> prologue does appear before select screenings of The Odyssey<\/a><\/em>, if arrived late, you could miss more than a few trailers.<\/p>\n
