Especially in summer, this continues throughout the day. To save electricity, people often reduce the speed of the fan, but they ignore one small thing &#8211; and that is the dust accumulated on the fan blades. This dust can gradually affect the performance of the fan.<\/p>\n<p>The dust coming from windows and doors gradually starts accumulating on the fan blades. With time its thick layer forms. Especially the dust accumulated on the edges of the blades affects the balance of the fan and its ability to cut air. In such a situation, the fan has to work harder to provide the same amount of air as before, which can increase electricity consumption.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The reason for less air flow may not only be the motor but also dust.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your fan is running at full speed, but you are not feeling cool air in the room like before, then the reason for this could be not only the motor but also the dust stuck on the blades. Thick layer of dust reduces the flow of air. Many people consider it to be a malfunction of the fan, whereas sometimes the problem can be solved by simply cleaning it thoroughly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Too much pressure may increase on the motor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When the fan blades are dirty, the motor has to work harder to provide adequate air. If this happens for a long time, there may be additional pressure on the motor. Therefore, regular cleaning is considered necessary to maintain better performance of the fan and save electricity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The fan may also wobble due to dust<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If too much dust accumulates on any one part of the blade, the balance of the fan may get disturbed. In such a situation, the fan starts wobbling or vibrating while running. Continuous vibration can also put additional stress on the motor and mounting system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don&#8217;t ignore these signs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If an unusual sound is coming from the fan, it is moving excessively or is switching off repeatedly, then do not ignore it considering it to be normal. Sometimes such problems arise due to loose screws or weak fittings, which can be dangerous from safety point of view.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Periodic cleaning and inspection necessary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By regularly cleaning the fan, its ability to provide air remains better and the possibility of increasing electricity consumption can also be reduced.
