Southampton will host a men\u2019s Ashes Test for the first time next \u200byear, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) \u200bannounced on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Trent Bridge will host the \u2060first men\u2019s Test, starting on June 18, while the first match of the multi-format women\u2019s series, the sole Test match, begins \u200cat Headingley on June 24.<\/p>\n

Southampton will host the fourth men\u2019s Test starting on July 21.<\/p>\n

A packed \u200csummer of cricket in England will also include \u200c10 ODIs for the England men\u2019s team while \u2060the final of the World Test Championship will take place at London\u2019s Oval.<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s and women\u2019s Ashes were also held at the same \u200btime in England in \u200c2023, boosting crowds for the women\u2019s fixtures.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last time Australia were here made for captivating cricket, in a way that only the Ashes can provide, as \u200cboth of our Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s teams fought \u200bback to level the series in dramatic circumstances,\u201d ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould said \u2060in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cNext summer will see the men\u2019s team play a Rothesay Ashes Test at the Utilita Bowl (Southampton) for \u200cthe very first time, while the women\u2019s team will play an Ashes Test at Headingley for the first time since 2001.\u201d<\/p>\n

England\u2019s men will start their home season with a five-match ODI series against Pakistan, starting at Southampton on May 15. England will also play a \u200cfive-match ODI series against New Zealand later in the summer\u200b, as well as a one-off Test against Bangladesh starting at Lord\u2019s on May 28.<\/p>\n

The World Test \u2060Championship final will start on June 9, with the ECB \u2060confirming that the fixture will also be hosted in England in 2029 and 2031.<\/p>\n
