Diksha lone Indian to make the cut at Women\u2019s Scottish Open<\/b><\/p>\n
Diksha Dagar compiled one-over 73 in the second round and was the only Indian to make the cut at the Women\u2019s Scottish Open.<\/p>\n
With rounds 74-73 she is 3-over and tied 35th with two more rounds to go.<\/p>\n
Pranavi Urs (84-71) with a 13-shot difference between her rounds was 11-over and missed the cut as did Avani Prashanth (80-77).<\/p>\n
The cut fell at +6 with 65 players making it through to the weekend in Scotland.<\/p>\n
Diksha had three birdies, on the second, seventh and the 14th but also dropped shots on the third, sixth, 13th and the 15th.<\/p>\n
Currently inside Top-10 of the LET Order of Merit, Diksha needs a strong result to make it to the AIG Women\u2019s Open, a Major for women next week.<\/p>\n

Jeev and Jyoti make the cut in Senior Open<\/b><\/p>\n
Jeev Milkha Singh, who was T-12 after the first round, made the cut at the ISPS HANDA Senior Open along with compatriot Jyoti Randhawa in Gleneagles. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Jeev shot 8-over 78 in tough conditions at the Gleneagles Hotel after being bogey free 67 in the first round.<\/p>\n
At 5-over he was tied-69 as the Top-70 and ties made the weekend rounds.<\/p>\n
Also making the cut was Jyoti Randhawa, who after a 72, added 73 to be 5-over in the same T-69th place.<\/p>\n
It was a day when nobody went bogey-free, with wind adding to the firm and fast conditions, the King\u2019s Course was a tough proposition.<\/p>\n
Cameron Percy will take a three-shot lead into the weekend after a brilliant back nine of 33 in challenging weather conditions.<\/p>\n
The Australian entered day two with a one-shot lead and extended that advantage with a two under 68 to get to nine under par, three ahead of American Jerry Kelly.<\/p>\n
Kelly matched Percy\u2019s lowest round of the day with a 68 to sit at six under, two shots clear of a pair of Open Champions in Ernie Els and Henrik Stenson and Austria\u2019s Markus Brier.<\/p>\n
Percy looked like he too could fall victim to the layout with bogeys on the fifth and eighth before a birdie on the ninth steadied the ship.<\/p>\n
A chip-in on the 13th then sparked an excellent closing run and further gains on the 14th and last saw the 52-year-old regain his position at the top of the leaderboard.<\/p>\n
Percy has yet to claim a senior win since turning 50 in May 2024 but he has made all 81 of his cuts on the Champions Tour and in 2025 finished in the top ten at this event, the Senior PGA Championship and the U.S. Senior Open.<\/p>\n
Frenchman Lionel Alexandre and American Matt Gogel were at three under, one ahead of 2023 Senior Open champion Alex Cejka, 1993 Ryder Cupper Peter Baker, South Africa\u2019s Darren Fichardt, Australian Michael Wright and American duo Taggart Ridings and Tom Penrice Jr, with just 16 players under par.<\/p>\n

Chess+ initiative launched to promote chess education in schools<\/b><\/p>\n
An initiative to introduce structured chess curriculum termed \u2018CHESS+\u2019 (Championing Excellence in Sport Skills) was launched on Saturday to build school chess ecosystem across the country.<\/p>\n
The CHESS+ was launched by Jayant Chaudhary, the Minister of State (independent charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education.<\/p>\n
The initiative, which is being implemented in partnership with the All India Chess Federation (AICF) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NCS), will start with a pilot program across 30 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), 13 in Haryana, 15 in Uttar Pradesh, and 2 in Delhi.<\/p>\n
\u201cDesigned to harness the educational value of chess, CHESS+ aims to nurture critical thinking, problem-solving, concentration, decision-making and resilience among students,\u201d a release said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe pilot will offer a structured curriculum developed by the All India Chess Federation (AICF), delivered through trained coaches and teacher-mentors, alongside regular competitions and a robust evaluation framework,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n
The learnings from the pilot program will be imbibed in the phased expansion across Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.<\/p>\n

Indian fencing achieved its best-ever performance on the global stage as \u00c9p\u00e9e fencers Taniksha Khatri and Prachi Lohan concluded their individual campaigns at the Senior World Fencing Championships 2026 in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n
Both athletes became the first Indian women\u2019s \u00c9p\u00e9e fencers to qualify for the Main Table of 64 (Direct Elimination Round) at a Senior World Championships, competing in a field of over 180 athletes at the Asia World Expo.<\/p>\n
In the final standings for Women\u2019s Individual \u00c9p\u00e9e, Taniksha Khatri placed 43rd overall, registering India\u2019s highest-ever individual rank in the event at a Senior World Championships. Teammate Prachi Lohan finished 58th, giving India two fencers in the top 60.<\/p>\n
Rounding out the Indian squad in the same event, Yashkeerat Kaur Hayer ranked 143rd, and Mitva Jesangbhai Chaudhari ranked 150th.<\/p>\n
In the Men\u2019s Individual Foil event, Sachin finished as the top Indian fencer in 107th place, followed by Aditya at 137th, Sanasam Hemash Singh at 143rd, and Tejas Manoj Patil at 149th.<\/p>\n
