Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has introduced the SkyNomad N90 hybrid SUV, the first model under its new SkyNomad sub-brand. This is the company’s first range-extender hybrid vehicle, which differs from traditional driver-focused cars with an emphasis on practicality, comfort and flexible seating. Measuring approximately 5.3 meters long, this large three-row SUV is designed for long trips and family use.<\/p>\n
Compared to Xiaomi’s first electric sedan SU7 and SUV YU7, the N90 has a boxy and upright look, which offers more space and practicality. As per MIIT filing, the top-spec Max variant weighs 2.8 tonnes. It has unique features like swivel seats, fold-out table, which make it a strong contender for luxury family SUV. It is built on Kunlun architecture and can generate interest in the Indian market in the coming time.<\/p>\n
Design<\/h2>\n
SkyNomad N90 has length of 5,285 mm, width of 1,998 mm, height of 1,825 mm and wheelbase of 3,080 mm. It has boxy proportions, full-wide LED headlamps, Volvo style T-shaped DRLs and ‘SkyNomad’ logo. On the side, 21-inch alloy wheels, flap-type door handles and large glass area are available. At the rear, there is a rectangular LED light bar, a large spoiler and cladding. LiDAR sensor is installed on the roof.<\/p>\n

The dashboard has a large freestanding infotainment screen, with fewer physical buttons. Tan finish, entertainment screen for the second row and dual-pane sunroof have been provided. The main highlight is its seating layout.<\/p>\n
Features<\/h3>\n
The 7-seater features powered and reclining second row captain seats with ottoman, third row seating for three. The front seats can be swiveled and folded back. In the 5-seater version, a coffee table fits between the front and second row. Features like fold-out table and sleeping table make long journeys comfortable. LiDAR sensor, advanced ADAS system and strong structure are expected for safety.<\/p>\n
Powertrain details<\/h3>\n
This is a range-extender hybrid. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine acts as a generator only, while two electric motors drive the wheels. Total power is 421hp and top speed is 190kmph. The 76kWh battery can provide a pure EV range of up to 370km. The engine gives 15.9 KMPL mileage when the battery is empty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
