To keep phone data safe, many people today use software with special security features and privacy. But a case has come to light in America, which has forced people to think. Here, questions are being raised against a person just because his phone had software which keeps the data more secure.<\/p>\n

This case is related to Samuel Tunick, a resident of Atlanta city of America. He is accused of deliberately resetting his phone in such a way that the investigating agencies could not see its data.<\/p>\n

According to the report, on January 24, Samuel Tunick was returning to America from the Dominican Republic. American officials stopped him at Atlanta airport and asked to check his phone.<\/p>\n

The officers asked several times to unlock the phone. When he finally entered a passcode, the phone screen turned off, flashed a few times and then restarted. After this the entire data of the phone was erased.<\/p>\n

Government agencies say that this was an attempt to destroy evidence. Tunick’s lawyers say that the very investigation of the phone was against the law.<\/p>\n

What is GrapheneOS?
<\/strong>GrapheneOS is a special type of Android operating system, which provides more privacy and security than normal Android. It has been specially designed for Google Pixel smartphones.<\/p>\n

There are many security features available in it which keep the user’s data safe. There is also a feature in which if a special passcode is entered then the data of the phone can be automatically erased.<\/p>\n

Questions raised in Europe also
<\/strong>According to the report, not only in America, but also in the Catalonia region of Spain, there has been a controversy regarding GrapheneOS. It has been told that some police officers there look at people having Google Pixel phones with suspicion. They think that such people use GrapheneOS and they may be related to crime or gangs. However, there is no general rule or law for this.<\/p>\n

What did GrapheneOS say?
<\/strong>After this matter came to light, the GrapheneOS team clearly said that their software is completely legal. The company says that the purpose of GrapheneOS is to protect people’s data from hacking, theft and unauthorized access. He also said that due to strong encryption, one’s personal data cannot be easily viewed.<\/p>\n

The case is going on in the court
<\/strong>Cyber \u200b\u200bsecurity experts say that it is not right to consider someone a criminal just because of using GrapheneOS. Currently this case is going on in the American court. Now the court will decide what the law says in this matter and whether mere use of privacy software can be considered as evidence against someone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
