After making a mark with intense films like Do Patti (2024) and Tere Ishk Mein, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon shifted gears to a lighter, fun-filled project. She is currently shooting for Homi Adajania’s Cocktail 2, a romantic comedy also starring Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is being promoted as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail, which featured the iconic trio of Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, and Diana Penty.

Kriti Sanon shares how Cocktail 2 offers a fresh story and modern vibes compared to Deepika Padukone’s original film: “It’s a vibe sequel, everything else is different”In a recent interview with Zoom, Kriti opened up about working with Shahid and Rashmika, and how Cocktail 2 differs from the original. “I think Cocktail 2 just happened at the right time. I was craving for it. I wanted to explore that young, urban, fun space of a rom-com. And yes, it’s a sequel, but it’s more of a vibe sequel. The story, characters, and their backstories are completely different. Everything is new, except for the vibe of Cocktail and, of course, Maddock Films and Homi Adajania—that remains the same,” she explained.

Kriti added that the shoot has been exciting so far. “We’ve completed two major schedules and are about to start another one in Mumbai. The music is amazing, and I look very different from my previous roles, which feels fresh and exciting. Even when you watch Cocktail 1, it still feels relevant and contemporary, and I think this film captures a similar modern vibe. The visuals are stunning, and it reflects today’s relationships and dynamics.”

Talking about working with Shahid and Rashmika, Kriti said, “I’ve had a blast shooting with them, and Homi’s energy keeps everyone engaged and makes it a fun ride.” This marks Shahid and Kriti’s second collaboration after Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, where Kriti played a robot. “But finally, I’m human!” she quipped about her current role.
