Deepinder Goyal tops list of India’s self-made entrepreneurs of 2025; Zepto founders youngest on the list

The list, released by IDFC FIRST Bank and Hurun India, highlights the 200 most valuable companies in India, founded after 2000. These companies are ranked according to its value, defined as market capitalisation for listed companies, and valuations for non-listed companies. It only includes companies headquartered in India.
Goyal’s Eternal, valued at Rs 3.2 lakh crore, has for the first time overtaken RK Damani’s (70) of DMart (Rs 3 lakh crore). The former’s worth is up by 27% from 2024. The combined value of all companies on the list stands at Rs 42 lakh crore, and features entrepreneurs from across 51 cities in India.
Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal of InterGlobe Aviation (Indigo) are at third position at Rs 2.2 lakh crore, marking the airline’s debut among India’s self-made list.
Top gainers on the list are Eternal, Groww, Anthem Biosciences, Paytm, and Lenskart.
Other notables names in the Hurun-IDFC FIRST list include:
- Abhay Soi of Max Healthcare Institute (#4, Rs 1.11 lakh crore)
- Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy of Swiggy (#5, Rs 1.06 lakh crore)
- Deep Karla and Rajesh Magow’s MakeMyTrip (#6, Rs 94,500 crore)
- Yashish Dahiya and Alok Bansal’s Policybazaar (#7, Rs 80,300 crore)
- Vijay Shekhar Sharma of Paytm (#8, Rs 72,900 crore)
- Falguni Nayar and Adwaita Nayar of Nykaa (#9, Rs 67,500 crore)
- Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary, Neha Bansal, and Sumeet Kapahi of Lenskart (#10, Rs 6700 crore)
Co-founders of Zepto, Kaivalya Vohra (22) and Aadit Palicha (23), are the top two youngest entrepreneurs of the country, followed by Shashvat Nakrani (27) of BharatPe.
Other founders in the top 10 list, under 32, include Ritesh Agarwal (31) at #5, and Ankush Sachdeva (32) at #7.
Women entrepreneurs making an impact and featuring in the top-200 list include Falguni Nayar, Nykaa (#1); Adwaita Nayar, Nykaa (#2); Neha Bansal, Lenskart (#3); Ruchi Kalra, OfBusiness (#4); Kavitha Subramanian, Upstox (#5); Ruchi Deepak, ACKO General Insurance (#6); Srividhya Srinivasan, Amagi (#6); Garima Sawhney, Pristyn Care (#8); Ghazal Alagh, Honasa Consumer (#9); and Rajoshi Ghosh, Hasura (#10).
On the other hand, the most experienced entrepreneurs are Happiest Minds Technologies Ashok Soota (82) at #1, Star Health and Allied Insurance Company’s V Jagannathan (80) at #2, and Medanta’s Naresh Trehan (79) at #3.
