Rishabh Pant scores 64-ball fifty in Delhi vs Gujarat match in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Rishabh Pant scored a 64-ball half-century in his 79-ball 70 during Delhi’s Elite phase match against Gujarat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Bengaluru on Friday.

The 28-year-old struck eight fours and two sixes, with the second maximum off leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi bringing up his 12th List A fifty and his first in the Vijay Hazare Trophy since 2018.

Pant is captaining Delhi in the tournament, which began on December 24. The knock continued his return to the ODI frame, having recently been part of India’s squad as the second wicketkeeper for the three-match series against South Africa. His last ODI appearance came in August 2024.

Pant’s return to competitive cricket began earlier this season when he led India A in two four-day matches against South Africa A. He received clearance to play from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence after completing two stages of rehabilitation following the fractured foot he sustained during the fourth Test against England in Manchester in July.
