IND-W vs SL-W: Smriti, Shafali record highest partnership for India in T20Is

Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma recorded the highest partnership for any wicket in women T20Is for India during the fourth match against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.

During their 162-run opening stand, Mandhana and Shafali broke their own previously set record of 143 against West Indies in 2019.

While Mandhana ended up with 80 off 48 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes, Shafali scored 79 off 46 deliveries, hitting 12 fours and a six. The Women in Blue put on 221 for two at the end of the innings — highest score for India in T20Is.
