Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26: Sanju Samson scores century for Kerala vs Jharkhand

Sanju Samson scored a century for Kerala against Jharkhand in a Vijay Hazare Trophy fixture in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Opening the batting for Kerala, Samson and Rohan Kunnummal took charge of a competitive 312-run chase. Kunnummal played aggressor as he raced away to a century. He was dismissed after amassing 124 runs in just 78 balls in an innings that saw eight fours and 11 sixes.

Samson was happy to be the cautious anchor, despite going at over a run a ball. He brought up a half century in 48 balls after which he switched gears, getting to his hundred in 90 balls, smashing nine fours and three sixes along the way.

The 31-year-old fell soon after, caught leg before by Shubham Kumar Singh for 101 off 95 balls.

This is his first List A fixture since 2023, after featuring for India against South Africa in Paarl. Incidentally, he scored a hundred —a 114-ball 108— in that match too.
