T20 World Cup 2026: Ireland announces 15-member squad


Ireland, on Friday, announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026, set to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Lead batter Paul Stirling has been named the captain while Lorcan Tucker will be his deputy.

At the World Cup, Ireland is placed in Group B, alongside Sri Lanka, Australia, Oman and Zimbabwe. Ireland will begin its campaign on February 8, when it takes on Sri Lanka in Colombo.

This will be Ireland’s ninth appearance at the T20 World Cup. Its best performance came in 2009 and 2022, when it qualified to the second round.
