Aman Mokhade records third-most runs in a Vijay Hazare Trophy season


Aman Mokhade recorded third-most runs in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy season during the final between Vidarbha and Saurashtra in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Mokhade finishes behind N Jagadeesan’s previous record of 830 runs in the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy, as well as Prithvi Shaw’s 827 runs in the 2020/21 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Mokhade finishes the season with 814 runs from 10 innings in the season. His highest score was 150, recorded against Baroda at Rajkot. Mokhade also finishes level for the most centuries in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy season, with his five centuries equal to Jagadeesan’s total as well as Karun Nair’s five for Vidarbha last season.

The opener recorded 33 from 45 balls in the final on Sunday, getting away four boundaries before being bowled by Ankur Panwar.
