Flipkart taps ex-Blinkit CFO, former Wipro executive for top finance and HR roles

Walmart-owned Flipkart appointed two senior executives to its finance and human resources divisions, continuing a series of leadership changes as the ecommerce marketplace strengthens its internal structure.

On Monday, Flipkart appointed Vipin Kapooria as Vice President, Business Finance, and Yogita Shanbhag as Vice President, Human Resources.

Kapooria, a chartered accountant with 19 years of experience, returns to Flipkart from quick commerce platform Blinkit, where he served as Chief Financial Officer. He will oversee business finance across all categories. Shanbhag, formerly of Juniper Networks and Wipro, will lead human resources for the company’s “OneTech” business unit.

The appointments mark the latest in a string of senior hires at the Bengaluru-based company. Last week, Flipkart’s fashion arm Myntra appointed former Google and Instacart executive Pramod Adiddam as Chief Technology Officer to oversee strategy and platform expansion.

Before that, the group named Jason Chappel as Vice President, Group Controller, to oversee financial reporting and internal controls, and appointed Amer Hussain as Vice President, Supply Chain – Grocery and Minutes.

The leadership overhaul began earlier this year, in January, when the company appointed Gunjan Bhartia as Senior Vice President of Business Finance for eKart, its logistics unit, to strengthen capital discipline.

The strengthening of the leadership bench comes as Flipkart prepares for a potential public listing. In December 2025, the company received approval from the National Company Law Tribunal to shift its domicile from Singapore to India, a move widely considered a precursor to an initial public offering (IPO).

Commenting on the latest appointments, Seema Nair, Chief Human Resources Officer, Flipkart, said: “Building a strong organisation requires sustained focus on leadership, robust systems, and culture. Vipin and Yogita bring the depth of experience that further bolsters our financial and people foundation, ensuring we have the organisational capability to deliver on our long-term growth strategy.”
