As Siddhant Chaturvedi prepares for the release of his upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein, the actor is looking back at a deeply personal chapter from his pre-fame years—one that shaped both his outlook on life and his journey into cinema. Before the spotlight and acclaim, Siddhant was charting a far more conventional path, studying chartered accountancy like his father, while quietly nurturing dreams of becoming an actor.

Siddhant Chaturvedi opens up about first love, career crossroads, and the promise that changed his lifeIn a recent conversation, Siddhant spoke candidly about a relationship that began when he was just 18 years old. “There was this girl I was, you know, madly in love with. I was doing Chartered Accountancy, she was also in the same class. I used to take a train ulta to go to where she was every day, even though my house was the other way,” he shared. The relationship lasted four years, but over time, differing life goals began to surface.

Reflecting on that turning point, Siddhant said, “Now the sad part that happened is because in me it was like, I wanted to be an actor that time, and thing was that she wanted to get married by 24.” Describing the emotional conflict, he added, “I was like, ‘Yaar, mereko pata nahi ki abhi main toh ekdum kuch naya hi shuru kar raha hoon (I honestly didn’t know what would happen because I was just starting something completely new). You know, can you wait for me?’”

According to Siddhant, the decision to part ways came with maturity and mutual understanding rather than bitterness. “So she told me that, ‘Listen, I think you know what you wanna do. It’s a long journey, I want you to be pressure-free, so you go pursue your dreams. We are parting ways but remember that you have to make this worth something.’”

Years later, after Siddhant’s breakthrough performance in Gully Boy, the story came full circle. “Jab Gully Boy hua, my first message was from her—that you kept your promise. And by that time, she was already married and… yeah,” he recalled. He summed up the experience by saying, “So I had to choose between my dream and my love, and she was like, ‘You choose your dream and you make sure that, you know, your love was worth it.’”

Quoting a poetic thought that stayed with him, Siddhant concluded, “Shayar ne aisa mehsoos kiya hai ki—jis afsane ko anjaam dena naa ho mumkin, usse bas ek haseen mod dekar chhod dena chahiye” (The poet in me says – If a story cannot reach its end, it should be left at a beautiful turning point).

Now, with Do Deewane Seher Mein, a Bhansali Productions film co-starring Mrunal Thakur, Siddhant steps into a phase marked by emotionally layered storytelling—carrying forward a journey shaped as much by personal sacrifice as professional ambition.
