Filmmaker Ram Madhvani marked a decade of his acclaimed and successful biographical thriller Neerja with a quiet celebration attended by actors Bhumi Pednekar and Viineet Kumar Siingh, along with producer Mahaveer Jain. The group cut a cake together, commemorating 10 years of a film that went on to become one of the most talked-about releases of 2016.

The film also featured Shabana Azmi in a pivotal role and earned widespread acclaim upon release.

Reflecting on the milestone in a recent exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Madhvani expressed gratitude for the film’s reception. He described it as a rare project that achieved “financial, critical, personal and mass success” simultaneously. The director noted that the emotional core of the story — a family navigating the loss of their child — resonated deeply with audiences. He also credited the cast and collaborators, including Fox Star Studios executives Vijay Singh, Rucha Pathak and Uday Shankar, as well as associate producer Amita Madhvani.

Meanwhile, Madhvani is set to collaborate with Mahaveer Jain on his next project starring Tiger Shroff. The film is scheduled to go on floors in September 2026.
