Auto launches this week: BMW X3 M Sport Pro, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Tata Punch EV facelift


It has been a busy week for the auto market. From luxury SUVs to entry-level EVs and commuter motorcycles, several brands rolled out new products across segments. Here’s what’s new this week.BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro

BMW India launched the 2026 X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro on February 16 at ₹74.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the new top variant. It runs a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid tech. Output stands at 258 bhp and 400 Nm. It is positioned as a performance-focused trim within the X3 range.
Maruti Suzuki e VitaraMaruti Suzuki introduced its first fully electric vehicle in India – the e Vitara. Pricing starts at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory) under a Battery-as-a-Service model. Two battery options are offered: 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh. Both use a single motor driving the front wheels. Claimed range figures are up to 440 km and 543 km, respectively. The model will be sold only through Nexa dealerships. It enters a segment where the Hyundai Creta Electric is also expected to compete.

Nissan Gravite B-MPV

Nissan launched the seven-seater Gravite at an introductory ₹5.65 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 1,001 units. It gets a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing around 72 hp and 96 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT, branded EZ Shift. Feature highlights include an 8-inch infotainment screen, digital cluster, automatic climate control, and physical AC buttons. Nissan claims over 150 seating configurations and more than 31 litres of cabin storage. Safety equipment includes six airbags, TPMS, ESC, traction control, hill start assist, ABS with EBD and more than 45 safety features overall.

Jawa 42 Ivory

Classic Legends added a new Ivory colour to the Jawa 42 lineup, priced at ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). There are no mechanical changes. The motorcycle continues with the 294cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 27.3 hp and 26.8 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The update is cosmetic, with new retro decals and contrasting graphics.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line

Volkswagen India launched the Tayron R-Line on February 18, 2026. It uses a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204 hp and 320 Nm. Power goes through a 7-speed DSG gearbox to all four wheels.

Tata Punch EV facelift

Tata Motors will launch the Punch EV facelift on February 20. It marks the first update since the 2023 debut. Changes are expected to include minor design tweaks and a new colour option. Pre-bookings open at launch, with deliveries scheduled soon after.

Across price points, the week brought a mix of performance SUVs, entry mobility, and electric options.
